David Humke-
Washoe County Commissioner for District 2


- 1983 to 2002 served the 26th Assembly District as a Republican

- Assistant Minority Floor Leader in 1991 and 1999

-Chaired the Judiciary Committee in 1995

-Chaired the Economic Development and Small Business Committee in 1985

- Governor’s appointee to the Nevada Commission on Aging

-In Washoe County serves on the Regional Transportation Commission (currently Vice Chair), District Board of Health, Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority, Flood Control Coordinating Project, Washoe County School District Oversight Committee and the Washoe County Criminal Justice Advisory Committee.



Current Profession
David Humke works as Project Attorney at the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges in Reno, Nevada.

Government Background
David Humke currently serves as the Washoe County Commissioner for District 2 (south Washoe County). During his first year on the Commission in 2003, Humke served as the Commission Chairman.

From 1983 to 2002 he served the 26th Assembly District as a Republican. Two times he was named the Assistant Minority Floor Leader in 1991 and in 1999; he chaired the Judiciary Committee in 1995, and chaired the Economic Development and Small Business Committee in 1985. Humke served on the Ways & Means Committee and served on the Interim Finance Committee for several legislative sessions. He also served on the Legislative Commission and chaired that Commission’s Regulations Subcommittee in 2001-2.

Humke is a Governor’s appointee to the Nevada Commission on Aging, the Nevada Juvenile Justice Commission and the Nevada Indigent Accident Fund. In Washoe County Humke serves on the Regional Transportation Commission (currently Vice Chair), District Board of Health, Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority, Flood Control Coordinating Project, Washoe County School District Oversight Committee and the Washoe County Criminal Justice Advisory Committee.

Humke also is a member of Reno South Rotary and is Vice Chair of For Kids Advisory Committee which is advisory to the For Kids Foundation.

Personal
David and his wife Cindi have four children and three grandchildren and their niece Shawnee lives with them in Washoe Valley. There they care for horses, mini-horses, dogs and a cat. Cindi in addition to caring for and advocating for the animals is an avid photographer. Shawnee attends Damonte Ranch High School and is active the Naval Junior ROTC program.
